Find a Live In Nanny:
Kindred Live In Nannies offer great flexibility
-
A Kindred Live In Nanny lives in your family home on a full time basis. They are a great option if you need flexibility or regular long hours (and have room in your home!).
Our Live In nannies have formal childcare qualifications and/or professional childcare experience. They are passionate about working with children and see nannying as a long term career.
Our live in nannies like to be part of a family but are also very respectful of a family's privacy and family time.
Live In nannies will work up to 12 hours a day, Monday-Friday and with up to two nights of babysitting (Monday-Thursday) included in their salaries. They are also available to do proxy parenting when parents are away for a few nights.
If your nanny works over 48 hours per week, you will need to include an ‘opt out’ waiver in their contract - we have a template we’ll provide you, don’t worry!

A Nanny role incorporates ‘Nanny Duties’. This includes anything child related, both admin or household-wise. Outlined in dept on our our Nanny Duties page.
In addition to this, some families might agree extra duties with their Nanny. You might like your Nanny to cook the evening meal for the whole family rather than just the children. Or perhaps you have a dog you’d like your nanny to walk. Some families require PA type duties or extra housekeeping.Any additions should be thought of as ‘extra duties’ and it’s important to understand that not all Nannies will be willing or able to take them on. We advise you clearly outline any extras and include it in your job description.
Our consultants will do their very best to find you a pool of candidates willing to go the extra mile.

The weekly rate you pay a Live In Nanny is usually less than a Daily Nanny, but you are responsible for providing full time board and food.
Senior Live-In Nanny salaries range from £600-£865 gross per week, depending on the level of experience, hours and workload required.
A standard full-time live in position is 50 - 60 hours per week and includes 1-2 nights of babysitting.
The main things for you to consider when working out an appropriate salary are:
The level of responsibility required in the role
The number of children being looked after
The ages of your children
The level of experience/qualifications you require your Nanny to have
Any ‘extra’ duties you require
It’s good to discuss and agree a salary ‘range’ with your Consultant when you start your search.
We usually don’t advertise the absolute top of your range unless you want us to, but it’s helpful for us to know what movement there is when we are matching your role.

A ‘Junior’ Nanny is a Live In Nanny who is less experienced and therefore a more affordable option.
This could be suitable if your children are older, at nursery part of the day, or your role is shared charge alongside another childcarer.

A Live In nanny role incorporates full time board and food as part of the salary package.
The Nanny must be provided with a private bedroom and bathroom (or in some instances a shared bathroom with the children/family)
It’s important that the bedroom is theirs at all times, even on weekends and holidays or if you have friends or family coming to stay.
Some families are able to offer their nanny separate accommodation close to the family home; if this is the case they will provide food or a food allowance for the nanny.
